The Scene Around: 2014 Master Game Face Challenge

7/12/2014 11:20:36 AM

Four weeks ago, yours truly dropped by at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to witness Kevin Love’s Manila tour as the 3-time NBA All-Star forward graced the second edition of the Master Game Face Challenge.

It was formally slated after the San Mig Coffee-Talk ‘N Text semifinal clash in the PBA Governor’s Cup where the San Mig Coffee won.

This year’s edition featured Chris Tiu clashing with Marc Pingris along with many of the collegiate and professional basketball players. The game ended in a blowout win by Team Chris.

Despite the loss though, rookie big man Greg Slaughter bagged the MVP award for the game.
But perhaps the highlight of the evening did not come from any Chris Ellis nor Slaughter’s array of dunks.

Where else? It was at the shootout contest where Love scored 15 and 19 points for both squads. Here’s one of them. (By the way, Chris’ team also won the shootout battle)

Special thanks to the Sporty Guy for the ticket.
