Kaspersky offers Terminator-like Internet security service for just 1 peso per day

11/12/2019 01:13:17 AM

A peso a day keeps the mobile viruses away.

Any Filipino who wants to have their devices secured from any means of cyberattacks can now afford these services, thanks to Kaspersky and Home Credit.

Through its Philippine distributor iSecure Networks, the global cybersecurity company has recently teamed up with Home Credit, a local financing company here in the country, to bring affordable Android mobile security to the Filipino users – as cheap as 1 peso per day. Aside from that, customers who will purchase any Android mobile phone or tablet through Home Credit financing can also avail of the special subscription rate. This also marks the first time that the premium edition of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android is being offered to the Philippine market.

“Building a cybersecurity culture is among our advocacies and this effort to bring Kaspersky Internet Security for Android to the Filipinos at a very affordable cost is one way we can help people get their data and devices protected. We are so pleased to have Home Credit get on board as one of our newest partners in the country. The availability of our Android mobile security via Home Credit will surely make it very easy and economical for the average Filipino mobile user, one of the heaviest Internet consumers in the world, to get extra help when it comes to securing his or her online activities,” said Mary Grace Sotayco, territory manager for Philippines at Kaspersky.

The Philippines is one of the most active internet users in the world. This, however, leads them to become one of the hottest targets of cyberattacks. In a country of 88.5 million Android users that use the Internet for at least 10 hours a day, Kaspersky said RP ranked 10th among its global list of countries attacked by mobile malware last year. The cybersecurity firm detected and blocked the mobile malware attempts against 26.8% of its users.

“We’re happy to partner with Kaspersky in ensuring the security of our customers’ data and devices. Since mobile phones and tablets are vulnerable to cyber-attacks and security threats, it’s really important for us at Home Credit to provide our customers with a security solution that’s both affordable and accessible,” said Franchette Chingcuangco-Cardona, chief marketing, and customer experience officer for Home Credit Philippines.

Kaspersky Internet Security for Android offers the most extremely-useful advanced security the company can offer to Filipino mobile users.  It acts as a virus cleaner, automatically blocking malware on such devices, scans on-demand and in real-time for viruses, spyware, ransomware, and Trojans. The software locates and locks Android devices when lost or stolen and protects personal information from thieves, wiping it off from the device. Kaspersky Internet Security for Android also keeps financial information secure when shopping or banking online and filters out dangerous links and sites when an Android device is online.

“We’re proud of this project. From a retail perspective, this is the first collaboration of its kind and we’re confident that this will help get more Filipinos to consider prioritizing their online security,” said Christopher Sy, president of iSecure Networks, the exclusive distributor of Kaspersky consumer products in the country.

Following the jaw-dropping price offering,  Kaspersky also announced they are giving away tickets to the latest Terminator movie as well as premium merchandise items to lucky Kaspersky customers from 15 October 'til 30 November 2019.
