Inside look on Lenovo Legion's 2020 gaming products

Tech brand Lenovo has formally revealed its line of Legion product offerings for the year 2020.





Legion 7i

This year's batch of Legion products is bannered by Legion 7i, a premium 15” gaming laptop that It delivers unbridled performance for the most demanding users, with 10th Gen Intel Core i9 H-Series to go with a 6-point thermal sensor array rapidly predicts incoming thermal requirements to cool key components in advance for quieter and better performing gaming sessions.

It is also equipped with a VESA® DisplayHDR™ 400 15-inch IPS Full HD (1920 x 1080) display that aims to provide breathtaking visuals with up to 240Hz refresh rates with under 1ms response time with OverDrive support, 500nits brightness, and 100% sRGB color accuracy. The device is also engineered to improve lighting and reflection effects for an incredible level of realism, thanks to  NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU with Max-Q Design, as well as Dolby Vision on an ultra-vivid display while Dolby Atmos Speaker System which aims to deliver an immersive audio-video experience.

Not to mention, Legion 7i also has a more-powerful 90wHR battery enhanced by a  battery-sipping energy release feature for a more consistent battery life of up to 8 hours. Its Rapid Charge Pro capabilities let the device power up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. This laptop lets multitasking, streaming, and content creation made it easier with ample storage of up to 2TB NVMe PCIe SSD1 and up to 32GB DDR4 memory.

Superior specs inside the sleek Slate Grey-colored 2.2-kilogram laptop. This premium gaming laptop will be available by June 2020 for the price of PhP 119,995.



Legion 5Pi

Joining the 2020 Legion lineup is Legion 5Pi, the advanced 15” gaming laptop for gamers who desire the balance of style and adrenalin. The device offers great gaming performance with the latest 10th Generation Intel® Core H-series processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or GTX GPUs. NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ offers real-time ray-tracing for greater visual fidelity in the latest games.

The device has IPS HDR 1080p display with up to 240Hz refresh rate, 500nits brightness, and VESA-certified high dynamic range (VESA DisplayHDR 400), which works well for those in photo editing and video production, thanks to 100% sRGB color-accurate display. Legion 5Pi also possesses thin bezels and Dolby Vision technology that creates an even deeper immersion in games.

Its version of Lenovo Legion Fcolfdront 2.0 thermal system uses an array of sensors to constantly predict temperatures and optimize cooling. Silent heat dissipation is achieved with the Dual Liquid Crystal Polymer fans. This enables the Legion 5Pi to maximize CPU and GPU performance while ensuring stability, low temperatures, and quiet performance.

Aside from the Truestrike 4-Zone RGB gaming keyboard, the Legion 5Pi also has dedicated media controls, full-sized arrow keys, a number pad, and a large one-piece trackpad with Windows Precision Drivers that make navigation comfortable and smooth.

This laptop is equipped with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and up to a 1TB NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. It also has Intel® Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 wireless technologies, and its webcam comes with a built-in privacy shutter. The Legion 5Pi weighs 2.5kg. There's also Dolby Atmos together with Harman Kardon® speakers inside for an immersive audio experience.

The 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5Pi laptop starts at PHP 74,995 and is expected to arrive by June 2020.



Legion 5i

One of the mainstream gaming laptops offered by this computer company, Legion 5i fitted with the latest 10th Generation Intel® Core H-series processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, or GTX GPUs.

The 15” model has a 15.6” IPS 1080p display with up to 240Hz refresh rate and VESA-certified high dynamic range (HDR 400). With the 100% sRGB color-accurate display, it reproduces true-to-life images and brilliant hues for critical work in photo editing and video.

It also has the usual essentials such as Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 thermal management, Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard, and improved battery life (up to 8 hours6) using technologies like Advanced Optimus and Hybrid Mode. Aside from that, it supports faster Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Atmos, and come in a Phantom Black hue and with Rapid Charge Pro. They also come with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD storage.

The Intel-based 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5i will start at PHP 62,995 while the price of the 17-inch Lenovo Legion 5i laptop will be announced soon. They are expected to be available by June 2020.

Legion 5

Another half of Lenovo's mainstream gaming laptops offered this 2020, Legion 5 offers maximum gaming performance with the latest AMD Ryzen 7 4000 H-Series Mobile Processor with 8 cores, and up to the NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 2060 graphics for the visual fidelity of real-time ray tracing. 

The Legion 5 features a 15.6” IPS 1080p display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, HDR, and 100% sRGB color accuracy. Thin bezels and Dolby Vision technology create even deeper immersion in games.

Just like any other Legion products, Legion 5 has Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 thermal management, Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard, and improved battery life (up to 8 hours6) using technologies like Advanced Optimus and Hybrid Mode. It also equips the faster Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Atmos, and come in a Phantom Black hue and with Rapid Charge Pro as well as a storage drive of up to 16GB DDR4 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD.

The AMD-based 15-inch Lenovo Legion 5 will start at PHP 56,995 and is expected to be available by June 2020.



Y740Si Laptop and BoostStation eGPU

Part of the Legion 2020 offerings is the Legion Y740Si. Hailed as the thinnest and lightest of them all, this laptop measures and weighs a measly 1.7kg.

First revealed during CES, Lenovo Legion Y740Si is equipped with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i9 H-Series mobile processors has an up to 15-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) In-plane Switching (IPS) panel display touting VESA DisplayHDR 400, Dolby Vision and 100 percent RGB color gamut.

When it’s time for fun, shift into the preferred performance mode by manually pressing your Fn+Q keys to trigger Lenovo Q-Control 2.0.



Meanwhile, connecting the Lenovo Legion Y740Si to Lenovo Legion BoostStation, the optional external GPU enclosure will take your choice of NVIDIA or AMD desktop graphic cards to provide true desktop gaming prowess.

The Lenovo Legion Y740Si laptop starts at PHP 144,995 and is already bundled with the Legion BoostStation eGPU equipped with either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB or AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 XT 8GB graphics card. A standalone BoostStation will also be available starting at PHP 44,995. 

The Lenovo Legion Y740Si and Legion BoostStation will be available by the early second half of the year.



As part of their 2020 lineup, Lenovo unveils Legion Tower 5i,  a super GPU made for the avid gamer who wants a high-performance battle station. This device boasts system performance to the highest settings while staying quieter and cooler during cinematic gaming experiences with the tower’s optional liquid-cooling system at the same time.

With cool blue LED lighting, optional RGB internal lighting and its chassis in a Phantom Black hue, gamers can choose to showcase their personality and high-power internals with transparent side panels.

Available with up to Intel Core processors, the new tower also features Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 cooling system.

The whisper-quiet Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 thermals encompass a complex system of inner-working hardware and software that allows for better airflow and lower system temperatures. Its improved thermals have a 150-watt CPU cooler and larger intake fans, letting air circulate faster throughout its airy 28-liter volume interior.

The Lenovo Legion Tower 5 will offer the elite performance of AMD Ryzen desktop processors for the most demanding gamers as an option later this year. The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i desktop will start at PHP 72,995 and will be available by June 2020.



Lenovo also announced the new IdeaPad Gaming 3i laptop. This 15-inch device has the optional 120Hz refresh rate features an up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 H-Series mobile processor, designed to eliminate screen stuttering, slow game loads, and blistering keyboards.



Capping the lineup launch for 2020 is the Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5i. This device sports a cool blue ambient lighting at the front and is equipped with up to Intel Core processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
