Vanna hears 'Voices' on her third new single

Vanna has dropped her third single off her debut EP.

The Israeli singer-songwriter recently released 'Voices,' the third song from her debut EP 'High Hopes'. The song was produced by Roy Avital of Tel Aviv based indie-electronic trio Garden City Movement and mastered by Matt Colton (James Blake, Muse, Coldplay), and it was distributed through the Singapore-based indie music label Umami Records.

The song takes pride in its deeply melodic and hauntingly atmospheric folktronica production. The Israel-based singer-songwriter shares the story behind 'Voices' which are all about the mental wellness of a certain person standing in the course of time.

“I wrote this song about myself emerging from a period of a troubled inner world. Anxiety, depression, walking around my bed, walking around my head. Trying to make it all disappear. Mental health is a big part of my subject matter as it’s something I have been dealing with for the past 10 years,” said Vanna, who's born and raised in Tel Aviv to both Indian and Iranian parents.

As a result, 'Voices' raises awareness on issues surrounding mental and emotional health. It aims to break the stigma and educate listeners on the importance of intervention.

“Sometimes they can be so repetitive and make you stay awake the whole night. This song is about overcoming and accepting this situation. Insomnia, anxiety can be really exhausting, but every episode, rough as it will be, will end,” added Vanna, a graduate of the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music who worked with producer Roy Avital on her debut record.

Meanwhile, several music critics hailed the indie singer-songwriter for her previous singles.

“Let Me Fall showcases a beautiful performance filled with passionate songwriting and energy so fun you’ll be humming and singing along in no time” - Keep Walking Music

“Let Me Fall is perfect for television. This is the type of tune that would be in the running for a James Bond movie soundtrack placing but would ultimately be pushed aside in favor of a more mainstream name (like Adele) at the last minute. This is a high-level tune, the production is A grade and VANNA’s vocals are sublime. I take great pride in unearthing work like this. I’m fairly certain that people would absolutely fall in love with this tune if they heard it.” - The Sound Sniffer

“High Hopes made me stop in my tracks, turn off the lights, and turn on fairy lights around my room. That is the physical response an indie-electro song should have.” - Unheard Gems

“High Hopes is such a beautiful arrangement. VANNA has an outstanding voice, that collides into you at first listen. It’s so soft and passionate, not forced. The production and build in this track is powerful, over subtle guitar picking and entwined with subtle synth voices and strings piercing through. The track builds and transforms as VANNA takes you on a journey, exploring the depths of hope even amidst struggle. VANNA’s debut EP is set to release this summer and we are over-the-moon with excitement.” - IMR

“High Hopes is a tender reflection on not giving up with an immersive soundscape that quivers with emotion.” - ohestee

As Umami Records stated, High Hopes is Vanna's debut EP that delivers a delicate fusion of indie electronic, pop, and folk-influenced by artists like RY X, Oscar and the Wolf, SYML, and Sóley.

The song 'Voices' by VANNA is available everywhere by logging on to Umami Records website.
