The iBlog10 Experience (Part 1)

It was like ten months in the making. And in fact, they just celebrated their ten years in this venture. And when they formally announced the event, I was one of the people who were more excited. Yes, frankly speaking, I was really looking forward for the 10^th Philippine Blogging Summit.

I wasted no time in deciding (since being too patient is not really part of my personality at all): I immediately signed my name there, and bet my money that I could not really afford to miss this big thing in blogging (nah, just kidding on the latter part).

Natural na mainit sa Pilipinas. Aba, siyempre, dahil ang lugar natin ay tinuturing rin na isang ‘tropical country.’

Pero, ang init pa rin! Oo, para namang hindi naman tayo nasanay sa ganito. Summer eh!

Why Should You Attend iBlog10?

Last year, I attended their ninth seminar in over the same span of years. Actually, it’s the second day of the event.

I can still remember that one female student who tipped me for the conference (at that time, she was approaching me to be one of her group’s respondents in their thesis).

And after all of the timing, I managed to take home a gift pack (which was then I gave to my ex-girlfriend as a gift on our half-anniversary) and a T-shirt which I also won at their raffle.

But aside from the prizes, there are more things out there which are more worth to cherish – and that is what I called “learning.”

What you’re gonna do if Wrestlemania runs wild on you, brother?

Well, it’s barely half-week to go before Wrestlemania 30 rolls along at the Superdome in the Big Easy. Now, let’s just hope that the professional wrestling’s grandest annual event will not be another bust nor bullshit on our part as fans and spectators.

Well, I can really say I am still a spectator, since I only managed to get a hold of witnessing this thing since 2012 (though when I was a kid, I do watch several wrestling programs such as the precursor WWF).

First, the 59-year older Hulk Hogan returns to the sports entertainment world as the host for the evening.

But, moreover, let’s see what we can say about the upcoming cards in the Wrestlemania XXX.

At the moment, I had a lot of things in my mind; some things I wish I can really put into writing (yes, in both personal blog and on my other sideline).

Unfortunately though, the other side of my logical thinking, as well as emotions and my entire soul is not cooperating with me. And I can only cite reasons which are too personal to share with.

I tried dealing with this by hitting several tracks that served as my mood-setter. Again, it’s unfortunate things weren't successful.

However, I would like to share this clip with all of you.

This may be no perfect prank for an April Fool’s Day. In fact, the joke seemed to be on Kuya Jobert’s ‘jerky boyfriend’ role here.

Sa parte ng isang magulang, wala nang sasaya pa kesa sa makita niya ang anak niyang makapagtapos ng pag-aaral. Oo, hindi ito makakaila – yan talaga ang isa sa mga pinakapangarap nila para sa ating lahat.

At ayan na, mamartsa ka na sa red carpet papunta sa entablado kaharap ang mga nakatataas sa pamantasan na minsan mo nang pinasukan, pinag-aralanan nang napakahabang panahon, tinakasan para magbulakbol, at palagiang binabayaran ng tuition.

Ayos, after four years sa kolehiyo, o 17 years overall (exception na nga lang sa panahon ngayon na may K+12 program, so kayo na bahala mag-adjust dun), ay graduate ka na.

Pero ang tanong... eh ano ngayon?

Yan na naman tayo eh. Lumabas na naman ang pagiging balat-sibuyas nating mga Pinoy eh. Parang two years ago, nagngingit tayo sa galit sa isang foreigner na nagsabi ng mga bagay na ayaw niya sa Pilipinas.

Tapos, taong dos-mil-katorse na, may blogger lang na inayawan ang pagkain natin eh nagngitngit naman tayo sa galit.

Sira na naman ang MRT! Weh, ano pa bang bago sa balitang ito? Parang yung kasabihan na "same old shit" lang na nangyayari 'to sa araw-araw ah.

Sabagay, kung mapapansin kasi, sa nakalipas na ilang mga linggo at buwan ay lagi na rin nagiging laman ng balita ito. As in.

Ang masama lang, ay nasa bad limelight na naman sila. Ang saklap lang. Kung hindi may pasaherong nagpapakasagasa (ay naku naman, isa pa tong sira eh), may mga sigalot sa teknikalidad nito.

It’s only few weeks before the wrestling’s biggest stage will take centerstage at the huge venue the Big Easy peeps known as the Superdome.

And much as I am expressing my dismay on my local TV channel for not airing the WWE’s flagship program RAW, the only thing I can do at the moment is to do a flashback review: and I am talking about the three huge main cards of the WWE WrestleMania 29 held at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey last year.

I remember, I used to be on the multi-tasking mode then when my ultimate-fave-but-now-defunct Studio 23 aired its Philippine telecast during that one fateful Wednesday night of April. I was working in front of my computer, and at the same time – was watching the 240-minute event (you do the math, please?) on my Cherry Mobile phone (yes, I’m proud to say that. U mad?). At that time, I was a team leader in my graveyard shift (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) which did not really had much problem with me.

And what more can I say? Aside from those 80,676 patrons from East Rutherford whom witnessed this event, which is considered as the second largest all-time Wrestlemania event in terms of attendance?

But only three things really stuck my mind. What are those?
