The Scene Around: Jeremy Passion One Night Strum

07/16/2017 09:12:29 PM

Everyone probably here knows that: 1.) I am such a sucker for Philippine music; and 2) I am affiliated with Axl Guinto's Blog startup called Star Powerhouse, right?

But I admit: taking this offer from my good friend made me curious about one name called Jeremy Passion. And his One Night Strum gig held at Teatrino at Promenade Greenhills was apparently my baptism of fire; something that probably my friends from the Espasouls may laugh and event castrate me. Sorry, folks!

But really. Seeing him – along with front acts Miss Powers and Anica Snow made me realize that they are doing well in their own share of exposure. The X-Factor contestant just wowed everyone, and I think he just served his purpose really well. He's not just a versatile entertainer for nothing.

Anica Ordan, known for her series of covers in SoundCloud Philippines, made her presence felt alongside members of the band called Alas Quattro. Interesting to hear a young lady like her set the show's pace steadily to the intimate extremities. I am so impressed that too bad, after taking a lot of shots, it felt bitin and would like to hear more of what she can do as a cover artist soon.

Then came the man of the moment: the Fil-Am sensation who first rocked the Internet with his renditions of Destiny Child's “Cater 2 U” and Ne-Yo's famous hit “So Sick.” And for over an hour, I can say I am impressed with this Asian-American singer-songwriter who belt out some of his original compositions. Somehow, that has kept him going in his career and  for no reason at all, why he's been hailed for his role.
