The Scene Around: JACK TV Mad Fest 2015

11/16/2015 3:03:30 PM

Jack TV celebrated their first decade of success in bringing the best foreign programs in Philippine cable television by setting up MAD FEST 2015 last 7 November 2015 at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati City.

Music immediately took over as numerous Filipino music bands (Run Dorothy, Sud, BP Valenzuela, CRWN x Jess Connelly, Curtismith, Flying Ipis, Autotelic, The Ransom Collective, Taken By Cars, Imago, Quest Portable Sound Brigada, Mayonnaise, Kjwan, Franco and Urbandub) graced the stage from 3 PM onwards; with Parokya Ni Edgar being the last act as they formally introduced the Fusion Music Festival which will happen in early 2016.

Along the way, there were also performances by dance squads Crystals Dance Crew, Brigada x Planet Zips, LMN and Team Vibe. Also, several live art murals were exhibited thru Secret Studio; and food stalls were scattered everywhere.

As MAD FEST reached its prime, popular hip-hop duo Nico and Vinz hit the stage for an hour of music and total reek of awesomeness. The headliner drew massive cheers from the crowd cheer as they flaunt their skills in playing the drums and harmonica; as well as wearing the jerseys of the Philippine football team and even shown their sporting skills right there.

The night wasn’t even over as FUTURISTIC POLARBEARS keep the party vibe going with their special set; as well as during the performances of NIXDAMNP, DJ Ace Ramos (with MC Pao), Katsy Lee and DJ Toons.

Say, (on a personal level) at first I was then not sure whether I was going out during the evening. Until one of my blogger friends gave me a heads-up via a Facebook group. Perhaps their success from the event last year prompted the Solar Entertainment Channel to wage another one. And it lasted half-a-day at Circuit Makati. What an evening.

P.S. Special thanks to Christian Melanie Lee of Manila Concert Junkies for the tickets. Giving my shoutouts to JB Balaquit and Donna Sta. Ana for keeping me company during the evening; also, S/Os to the people I bumped with: the guys of Run Dorothy, Anj Florendo, Jimbo Cuenco (SUD), EJ Edralin (Autotelic), and photographer/friend MaskedRider Kenneth.
