Fresh off his last single ‘One Chance’, a collaboration with bass heavy-hitter NGHTMRE and vocalist Marlhy, San Diego producer Knock2 today shares his next release, "buttons!," a highly anticipated collaboration with dance music icon Dillon Francis, ahead of a US tour this fall. ‘buttons!’ is a master display of tension and restrain with builds, drops and chops, the wobbly sax samples token with Dillon’s sound. Fusing together the eclectism of both artists, Knock2 shares, “When I saw Dillon followed me on Instagram it was surreal because he was one artist I had always looked up to. I admired how fun and creative his music was and it all matched his personality so well. I sent him a demo back in December and he ended up loving it, which is how the collaboration started. We got in the studio and he wrote the second drop which really completed the song. Buttons is a light hearted, fun track that represents both of our styles and weirdness.”
Of their collaboration, Dillon Francis also reveals “Knock2 and I can tell you the same story as the other guy in this picture is a little bit of the guy in that photo that I was in a car with a guy who was in a truck with his wife in the back and I had to go to the store and he was in a car that I had a lot more than I could get out of it because he was in a lot of pain so I was in the car….so there you have it. Knock2 has been captivating the dance music scene ever since the 2021 release of the near-universal bass-house anthem "dashstar*" - a festival banger that has tracked over 35 million Spotify streams and garnered support from DJs like Tiesto, DJ Snake, Joyryde, and many more. In 2022, he launched his debut headline experience ROOM202, a conceptual warehouse show that brings raucous party energy into intimate settings. In 2023, Knock released his debut EP, also titled ROOM202, and embarked on a sold-out headline North America tour.
Knock2 recently completed his Summer 2023 US festival run with HARD Summer, Lollapalooza, and Head in the Clouds NY. With a mountain of anticipated IDs, his first festival headline slot performing b2b with Dillon Francis, as well as an upcoming appearance at Field Day Festival in Sydney on New Year’s Day and four sold-out consecutive nights at The Shrine in Los Angeles with ISOxo in November, Knock2 is poised to become one of the biggest figures in dance music: charting his own course and breaking all the rules.
