Newsletter: Truefaith "Paano Ka Magiging Akin?" Music Video Launch

08/23/2016 02:36:16 PM

Author's note: Isn't it awesome where noticed that within a month, music video launch events are like here, there, and everywhere?

And while some of them take places at some of your favorite music and hangout places around in the metro, there's one out there in the South that promises to be surefire hit among the ballad-lovers as Truefaith will launch the music video for Paano Ka Magiging Akin? their 2015 single released by Star Music.

See more of the details in this press release below.

TRUEFAITH WILL LAUNCH THEIR NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR THE SINGLE,
“PAANO KA MAGIGING AKIN?” AT 19 EAST ON AUGUST 27

Truefaith, one of the most accomplished bands in the history of Philippine music released the ballad, “Paano Ka Magiging Akin?” (Star Music) as a one-off single last year. And the response from fans was highly favorable with some declaring that "it sounds genuinely OPM." Meds (or Medwin), the band’s lead singer believes that music lovers easily fancied the track for it reminded them of songs by Gary Valenciano & Basil Valdez. Naturally, a ballad that is destined to be a Truefaith classic needed a beautiful music video to go along with it. Fans eagerly waited for its release.

It took them awhile to come up with the right concept. “We wanted a video that does not have the usual stuff that accompanies a romantic ballad,” Meds said. “We wanted it to be different and a little bit thought-provoking.” So, months after the single’s release, Truefaith are now ready to present the video for “Paano Ka Magiging Akin?” which is directed by, Genghis Jimenez and features celebrity/Viva artist, model, host and FHM Magazine favorite, Jacq Yu; upcoming actor & model (and Jon Snow-lookalike), JP Koch and former Wowowee dancers, The Wow Girls

It is a homage to classic horror & suspense films and references Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut,” “The Shining” & “A Clockwork Orange.” It also takes inspiration from the original “The Wicker Man” from 1973. Plus, Meds’ alter-ego in the video, “The Evil Butler” is evocative of characters from Tim Burton movies.

The narrative starts with JP Koch being welcomed by The Evil Butler in a mysterious albeit swanky & elegant house where supposedly a party that he was invited in will commence. Totally unaware of the dark nature of the house’s inhabitants he is captivated by the beauty of Jacq Yu’s character and of the other women alluringly played by The Wow Girls. Ultimately, JP is lured unwittingly to a very frightening & a most unfortunate (or is it?) fate by Jacq & the girls. The video is a glossy, sexy & classy piece of work that begs to be seen by every music (and film) fan.

Meds would also like to add that it is allegorical to an advocacy that he espouses. Something that viewers will realize at the end of the video.

Truefaith’s new music video, “Paano Ka Magiging Akin?” will surely be a visual & auditory delight that OPM fans will relish! It will be launched on August 27 at 19 East. It will debut on MYX on the same day. Eventually it shall be on YouTube and MTV Pinoy.
