When The Dream For The Philippine Hip-Hop Turned Real.

4:19:46 PM | 4/9/2013 | Tuesday

Who would have thought that a dream like this will turn into reality? Yes, perhaps a lot of people will not take this thing seriously unless it is already stated on the papers and works on the internet. Well, gues what? It was written, already.

I used to spot these words in Konektado’s Facebook page a few years back: “Araneta Dreams.” A bunch of hip-hop artists performing at the Big Dome (yes, it will be at the Araneta Coliseum). Impossible as it seems in the first place, eh?

Hey, it’s not anymore as tonight they will conquer the world, and it will be possible. Artists from the hip-hop and other genre will be performing on stage. Gloc-9, Greyhoundz, Freddie Aguilar, Abra, Q-York, Quest, Mike Swift, Urban Flow, Ron Henley, Loonie, Mike Kosa... you name them, and there’s a whole lot more.

Game of Skate Championship Finals will also be held.

Plus, a massive rap competition will be held as Smugglaz, Dello, Abra, Apekz, Juan Tamad, J-Skeelz, Zaito, Righteous One and a lot of battle MCs will slug it out to claim the only championship slot at the Sunugan Royale with P300,000 pesos at stake.

And the main event is already staged for a pair of the Philippines versus the US-of-A matches. Swave Sevah will battle Batas, while the much-awaited and much hyped (to the extent that they’re already have been exchanging fiery words at the social networking site called Twitter) rap battle between FlipTop’s Loonie and King Of The Dot’s Dizaster.

If you’re into hip-hop, indeed, this is one hell of a fight. I mean, one event that it is worth supporting.

See more of the Road2Araneta via this blog post at http://lippiestick.blogspot.com/2013/04/araneta-dreams-press-conference.html

Also, you can watch the entire Road2Araneta’s short documentary at http://www.youtube.com/user/KONEKTADOWORLD?feature=watch. It has 12 episodes to cover their 13 week of sojourn to the main event, which also include various events that rolls around the world of rap battles, skate battles and gigs.

Everything is already possible. The dream is already for real. You’ve got to give the guys Mike Swift, J-Hon, the rest of Konektado team, and even one of my many acquaintances and friends from the blogging world which is a total hip-hop supporter, for making the Araneta Dreams possible.

I salute these people. Peace!
