The Rundown Slam: WWE Elimination Chamber 2017

Screengrab from Dailymotion
Elimination Chamber marked its return after two years, and it's sadly wasn't the dome full of its name. They looked like a just-above-barbaric version of Hell in a Cell with chains and steel painted black and paddings that made it less of a chamber. So much for bringing a lot of special matches in the PG era.

However, surprises delivered too early for WrestleMania as Bray Wyatt emerged at the summit of SmackDown live as the WWE champion and Naomi surprisingly pulled all the stops to become the top name of SmackDown's women division.

That said, John Cena appears to be the transition champ, while Natalya and Nikki Bella rivalry had a very unclear ending but with an obvious swerve.

American Alpha proved to be the toughest young gun in their more deeper tag-team division. But probably if the Authority figures were written as heels, this story would proved to be more compelling in overcoming the obstacles. At least The Ascension isn't just booked as another bunch of creepy mediocres.

Setting aside the changes, Elimination Chamber fared very well for their competition wars with Monday Night RAW. Looks like we have seen which show is placed atop of the ratings and hype game as the Show of Shows approaches by.

Verdict: 7.8
