The Rundown Slam: WWE Elimination Chamber 2017

03/28/2017 09:20:38 PM

Screengrab from Dailymotion
Elimination Chamber marked its return after two years, and it's sadly wasn't the dome full of its name. They looked like a just-above-barbaric version of Hell in a Cell with chains and steel painted black and paddings that made it less of a chamber. So much for bringing a lot of special matches in the PG era.

The Scene Around: Pug At First Sight (2015)

Here's a piece of rewind 2016 for you, guys. No, we'll not gonna tackle those political crappy stuff here (hey, we all want to move forward on that aspect, right?). I know, while I personally geared up to the next level, I admit that blogging has far left behind. So that being said, let's take a bit of lookback to what the past year has offered to us.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Royal Rumble 2017

03/28/2017 09:05:53 PM

It's funny how the WWE claimed this edition of Royal Rumble as the biggest rumble of them all. Why? Is it because of the fact that they are celebrating three decades of success off a Robert Patterson's idea? Is it because of the return of the RR to the Alamo City?

The Rundown Slam: NXT Take Over San Antonio

03/27/2017 10:28:39 PM

I know, it might be six weeks to two months late from posting this. And I really had a hard time coping up with what's happening at the wrestling world.

But so, since WrestleMania week is just around the corner, maybe this could be at least a good time to fit into the showcase by having short takes on whatever PPV happened on this edition of road to the Ultimate Thrill Ride. Let's kick things off with NXT's pre-Royal Rumble special, shall we?

PlayBack: Sud – Show Me

I might be bias on doing this stuff right now. Well, don't get me wrong; while Sila can be considered a “so mainstream” thing, hearing their other tracks proved they have a lot more in store to offer. Now only if you give them a listen to their ultimate-slowdown tracks “Safer” and “Smilky,” the seducing “Make U Say,” and straightforward uptempo “Profanities.” This one, though, is my favorite out of their 8-track thingamajig.

PlayBack: Jensen and The Flips – BDYTLK

Is there any sort of difference to the what Jensen and The Flips are currently offering?

The Scene Around: Super Shadow Moses Turbo Launch

03/22/2017 08:06:51 AM

It was a Saturday night that served as the final third of a week/weekend packed of launches. While we have seen a some of our favorite bands launched their respective music videos, as well as a punk rock band and a hip-hop quartet doing their respective album launches in one night, someone up north was up for a party in a similar cause.

And that's the nerdcore rap trio Shadow Moses who just launched their geekery-inspired Super16 track album called Super Shadow Moses Turbo.

The Scene Around: A Gig Has No Name s01 e01

03/21/2017 08:02:28 AM

When they announced it way back then, I can already sense that this could be another big thing to take notice on a weeknight gig. Red Ninja Production and Support Your Local Indie Scene promises a set of awesome gigs this 2017. And this, happened almost two months ago, proved they can really do so.

Indi(e) Deserved Ang Price?!

03/18/2017 01:40:48 PM

PlayBack: Carousel Casualties - Flats

03/15/2017 08:09:27 AM

Say, nine months could actually spell a whole lot of difference. I remember hearing Carousel Casualties as a plain spectator (well, I still am now) on a random WAT UP gig last June and they actually sound different way back then. Probably the changes in lineup had taken effect for real.

The Scene Around: TheSunManager "Worth" Album Launch

03/10/2017 10:23:34 PM

It was probably a long wait until the dream formally became a reality. Three years after releasing an EP, April Hernandez and her solo project band released an 8-track record held Friday 10 February 2017, at Route 196 in Katipunan Avenue Extension, Quezon City.

The Rundown Slam: PWR Path Of Gold 2017

03/07/2017 10:08:53 PM

Looks like after two shows, Philippine wrestling is at least back into their mold, to where they last left off. And it wasn't just a new chapter that unfolded recently; they looked like they're back on track and will be rolling non-stop with new faces and thrills showcased two Sundays ago at the Philippine Wrestling Revolution's latest event Path Of Gold.

The Rundown Slam: Wrestle Kingdom 11

02/26/2017 10:31:29 AM

This year was the only time I managed to watch Wrestle Kingdom for the first time. Somewhat to review it from what I usually do and at the same time compare it to the ones I have seen from what the World Wrestling Entertainment might be quite unfair to do so.

Magkaisa o Pinagkaisahan?

03/03/2017 07:57:29 AM

Two Smackin' Raw Talks

03/02/2017 08:09:54 AM

Just when we thought disappointments will be ruling the road to WrestleMania, wrestling fans have seen at least few sets of turmoils on the works. And two of them are about to reach their boiling point.

Marching Blockbusters Ready For Take Off!

03/02/2017 06:19:26 AM

The first weekend of March 2017 seems very interesting for the local music scene, as for three days there will be series of launches for new singles, videos, and albums. That's aside from having a music festival, an album bar tour, and some sets of heavyweight gigs during these upcoming times. In the great words of my senior friends Mr. Cris O. Ramos, it's tanking season as if the NBA Playoffs, the ongoing PBA Finals, and WrestleMania season approaches by the same way as the country has been on transition from the cold season to summer.

Hand-Picked 2016 (The 9 Best Albums and EPs of 2016)

03/01/2017 12:32:10 AM

I know. It's barely 60 days into 2017 already. Maybe it's been way too late to make a posting about whatever shenanigans that took place in 2016. Well, I could pass out the list of the gigs I made since I had not made it to the big ones during that year, as well as not making the list of awesome matches in professional wrestling and the highlight reel of current events (by which deaths and politics had been taking the spot light to the extent that I cannot be able to digest either one of them).

But certainly, even if two months have already passed by, I don't think I could be able to prolong the wait for this – the list of the best albums for the year 2016. After all, this was the time I managed to get some of the best ones while I heard the others via Spotify.

Initially I want to do a list of 16 for this supposedly-yearender list. However, I trimmed it down to nearly a half. So that being said, here are my 9 hand-picked albums that rocked the past year.
